Huddersfield v Chelsea might seem like a mismatch on paper, although David Wagner’s side have very respectable stats when it comes to their home matches this season.

Only Tottenham and Manchester City have found a way to beat them at the John Smith’s Stadium, with the Yorkshire side having claimed four victories including beating Manchester United 2-1.

They also led recently against City before being sucker-punched late in the game, with Chelsea unlikely to find life easy and it should be noted that the Blues have made a habit of stumbling away to so-called lesser opposition.

Crystal Palace claimed a 2-1 win over them a few weeks ago, while West Ham also bloodied their noses on Saturday with a hard-fought 1-0 win and we know that Huddersfield will be prepared to roll their sleeves up for this clash.

Antonio Conte didn’t really rotate his team on Saturday and it might be that he gives certain players a rest for this midweek engagement, with a Chelsea win likely to be filed in the effective category rather than the spectacular one.

Eden Hazard was nullified at the London Stadium and the Terriers will be aware that the Belgian carries the biggest threat, although they have Steve Mounie back in the team and ready to fire some more goals after his brace against Brighton.

At the prices, it’s worth going for Huddersfield with a 1.5 goal handicap which means we can profit from our bet should the Terriers win, draw or even lose by a single goal – all of which exist as distinct possibilities.
