Some people think that Liverpool will be serious Premier League title challengers next season. Jurgen Klopp has done pretty well since inheriting the mantle from Brendan Rodgers and the Europa League campaign has illustrated that the squad is in decent shape already.

Klopp is urging his team to finish strongly and they rate a bet at odds-against to defeat a Chelsea side who sit ten points behind their opponents and they will be missing John Terry for Wednesday night’s clash.

Terry was dismissed at the end of Saturday’s match at the Stadium of Light, with Chelsea throwing away a 2-1 lead against a Sunderland side aiming to stay in the top flight.

It serves to illustrate that the Blues are de-motivated unless they are competing against a Tottenham side going for the title, while Klopp wants his players to stay sharp ahead of next week’s Europa League final against Sevilla.

Christian Benteke might enjoy another start, with Daniel Sturridge also in line to compete against his former club, while Roberto Firmino and Kolo Toure should also get a crack after being on the bench for the last game.

The Chelsea team is not dissimilar to the one that won the Premier League title last season, although defeats at Sunderland and Swansea illustrate that Liverpool should win.

After all, the Reds haven’t lost a Premier League game at home since the middle of January.
