The Liverpool juggernaut shows little sign of stopping after consecutive wins against Leicester, Chelsea, Derby, Hull and Swansea. However, their players return after the international break for one of the biggest fixtures of the season.

Liverpool v Manchester United is always a tasty affair and it’s worth noting that the Red Devils did a number on their Merseyside opponents home and away in the Premier League last season.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side did claim a 2-0 victory in the Europa League at Anfield, something which helped them reach the next round after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford a week later.

Liverpool are second favourites for the title after such a bright start to the campaign, a position that United occupied in the market before a ball was kicked, although the bookies have been left unimpressed by the Red Devils’ start to the campaign.

United have won four of their seven matches, recently drawing against Stoke despite dominating and losing those two games against Manchester City and Watford.

Jose Mourinho will clearly have a game plan when his team go to Anfield and who can forget his Chelsea side doing a number on a title-chasing Liverpool side three seasons ago when Steven Gerrard slipped and Demba Ba capitalised.

Mourinho will want to nullify Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana, through whom a lot of the play happens, with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane the other attacking prongs of the attack.

Liverpool are yet to keep a clean sheet in a Premier League match this season and they always seem to have a mistake in them, whether that’s through a set piece or an individual error.

However, odds-against about Liverpool makes plenty of appeal. They have won their two matches at Anfield by scorelines of 4-1 and 5-1 thus far. Leicester were destroyed before Hull were ravaged and it’s hard to see how United are going to contain their opponents for ninety minutes.

Therefore, Liverpool are an early selection at attractive odds and we’d expect them to be well supported in the market leading up to this match kicking off.
