Nathan Jones was taken aback after Sunday’s 3-2 reverse against Blackpool, especially as Luton went into the game with the second best defensive record in the division.

Having scored two goals in three minutes to take a 2-1 lead at Bloomfield Road, former Luton striker Mark Cullen then chipped in with a brace to mean that it’s advantage Blackpool going into the second leg clash at Kenilworth Road.

Gary Bowyer’s side simply need to draw the game to reach the League Two play-off final in their bid to return to League One, although Luton were the side that finished fourth by a considerable distance and we’re happy to back the Hatters to qualify.

While Luton are a 23/20 chance to win the game, you can get bigger odds of 7/4 that they reach Wembley and that is a price worth taking. If the home side win on Thursday, there’s a decent chance they can manage a two-goal winning margin and the game would go into extra-time with a one-goal margin of victory.

There must be a temptation to play Jack Marriott from the start, with the striker bagging two against Morecambe recently and he also found the net at Accrington.

Isaac Vassell is a definite starter having found the net in his previous three games and we’re expecting a Luton onslaught in front of their noisy supporters.
