Three wins, three draws and a defeat for Jurgen Klopp since taking over as Liverpool manager. The German’s decision to play a strong team against Rubin Kazan backfired as they lost to Crystal Palace days later and they have arguably their toughest fixture of the season this weekend.

Manchester City have thus far amassed nineteen goals in their six home matches, with Sergio Aguero potentially in the squad for this weekend’s clash. The Premier League side have scored 6-5-2-5-2 in their last five matches at the Etihad in all competitions.

While Liverpool nullified Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and ran out 3-1 winners, they weren’t entirely convincing in that match and we should note that the Reds are overly reliant on Philippe Coutinho from an attacking perspective.

Daniel Sturridge could be involved against one of his former clubs although it’s a lot to ask of the striker to make any sort of impact, with the defence likely to be tested by the probing movement of Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva.

City are bidding for their sixth consecutive win at the Etihad, having lost to West Ham in September although that is looking like a blip rather than something that is going to be a regular occurrence.

Klopp will try and make Liverpool hard to beat, having been twelve games unbeaten before that Palace reverse, with perhaps the best way to make money by backing Draw HT City FT at odds of 7/2 with Paddy Power.
