Manchester United’s season continues to be troublesome after Thursday’s Europa League exit although Louis van Gaal and his players understand the importance of Sunday’s derby.

It has now been four games without a win for the Red Devils and they won’t be too ambitious at the Etihad Stadium, with United looking to bounce back from that Liverpool draw on Thursday which saw them out of Europe.

The last two away matches have seen Van Gaal’s men lose at West Brom and Liverpool, failing to score in both games although they often raise their performance levels for the big occasion and did beat Arsenal 3-2 recently.

The reverse fixture saw the teams play out a goalless draw and that’s exactly what has happened in the past two Manchester City games, with Dynamo Kiev and Norwich City both thwarting a team who have drawn PSG in the Champions League.

That was a strong City team who couldn’t score against Kiev and there is no certainty that they will find a way past an organised and pragmatic team who will look to pack the midfield area and deny space to David Silva.

We’ll plump for a low-scoring encounter but it’s also worth looking at No Goalscorer in this game.
