There has been fanciful talk of Manchester City reaching the Champions League final since their 2-2 draw in the French capital last week although their last eight tie with PSG is far from over.

The absence of Vincent Kompany from central defence is clearly an issue as Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi partner each other in front of Joe Hart and this pair can’t be trusted on Tuesday night.

Paris had the better chances to win last week’s first leg and that included Zlatan Ibrahimovic having a penalty saved and also blazing the ball over when clean through.

It should also be noted that PSG claimed a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge in the previous round after beating Chelsea by the same scoreline at home, which means we’re talking about a dangerous team who will consider they are firmly in this tie.

City have Kevin de Bruyne back and claimed a 2-1 win over West Brom on Saturday evening, although Manuel Pellegrini’s side are still missing Raheem Sterling and there will be pressure on the home side who are caught in that familiar dilemma of having to attack and defend.
