So far, so good for Pep Guardiola who has ripped up the rule book at Manchester City. The Spaniard has moulded a squad and a style of play in his own image, with Joe Hart among those being culled as we write.

John Stones has already become a first-team regular at centre-half, to be joined by Vincent Kompany when available, while Fernandinho sits in front of the back four allowing a further four players to rove forward and support Sergio Aguero.

That man Aguero has been irresistible and the only blot on his copybook was missing two penalties in Romania last week. However, he still managed a hat-trick and has six goals in three starts thus far.

It’s hard to see how West Ham are going to stop the Argentine, even if you consider that they won this fixture last season.

Slaven Bilic is still forging his best possible team and has been hamstrung by an injury to new signing Andre Ayew along with the fact that Dimitri Payet hasn’t yet properly returned after Euro 2016.

The Hammers scraped a win against Bournemouth last weekend to get off the mark although it owed plenty to Harry Arter being dismissed rather than any ingenuity of their own.

We know how West Ham will approach the match, with Bilic looking to run a tight ship and hope to nick a goal, although Aguero will be ably assisted by the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Nolito and David Silva.

There are stricter rules with regard to fouling in the penalty area and it could lead to further penalties being awarded, with Sergio ready to take his opportunities as they come along.
