Betting Tip: Middlesbrough #1-0 @ 6/1 with bet365

Middlesbrough have been stumbling to the line after successive draws against Burnley, Ipswich and Birmingham, although Brighton’s 1-1 draw with Derby on Bank Holiday Monday has swung the pendulum back in their favour.

Boro simply need a point from Saturday’s lunchtime encounter against a Seagulls team who will be missing the suspended Lewis Dunk after the central defender’s red card against the Rams.

It’s worth noting that Aitor Karanka’s side have only conceded one goal at the Riverside in their past five matches. They have been defensively solid for much of the campaign and know that a clean sheet will see them in the Premier League.

It’s an occasion which will be fraught with tension and Brighton have to come out of their shells and go for broke. Perhaps in the early stages, Chris Hughton will instruct his team to be patient although risks might need to be taken at some point.

Ritchie de Laet started the season playing for Premier League champions Leicester and now finds himself at the Riverside, with the Belgian capable of shutting out Brighton alongside the impressive Ben Gibson.

We’re happy to plump for a 1-0 win in favour of Boro, with Jordan Rhodes having grabbed four goals in as many games and once they get their noses in front, we’re not sure Brighton will find a way to score.
