It’s fair to say that these teams have a difference in styles, with Tony Pulis now in charge of a pragmatic Middlesbrough team after previously adopting similar tactics when manager of West Brom.

Boro started the season with a fortunate 2-2 draw at Millwall, although they have subsequently won three Championship matches without conceding and that’s despite losing Ben Gibson to Burnley.

Aden Flint has slotted into the defence perfectly after switching from Bristol City, while Dael Fry is keeping out Daniel Ayala and we should expect the Teeside club to remain robust this season.

As for West Brom, they began the campaign with a surprise 2-1 reverse against Bolton although it’s been an upward curve since then. A 1-1 draw at Forest was followed by an exciting 4-3 victory at Norwich and they slammed QPR 7-1 last weekend.

Darren Moore is bringing some excitement back to The Hawthorns and we’ve seen Matt Phillips, Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez chipping in with goals aplenty.

This attacking instinct might be roped in for a clash at the Riverside, with Moore aware of Pulis’ likely tactics and the fact that Boro haven’t conceded in three and a half matches.

There is a concern over a Baggies defence that hasn’t yet kept a clean sheet this season and their former manager will know that one goal might be enough to get the job done.

With this in mind, we are looking at backing Under 2.5 Goals and also a small bet on Middlesbrough to win the game by a single goal and continue their strong start to the season.
