Hull City have finally decided to roll their sleeves up and prepare for a scrap to preserve their Premier League status.

The Tigers have been sinking towards the relegation zone for several weeks although Saturday’s 2-0 win at Selhurst Park was their first in seven games, with Dame N’Doye bagging a brace which keeps their heads above water.

Now they have to try and follow up their win against Palace with another positive result against Liverpool and it appears to be a good time to be facing the Reds.

Steve Bruce will have noted how Liverpool failed to break down a stubborn West Brom defence at the weekend, with Daniel Sturridge continuing a stint on the sideline during what has been an injury-hit season.

Indeed, Brendan Rodgers’ team are best at the back, with Emre Can and Martin Skrtel rock solid in defence and perhaps we’re set for another stalemate, with Liverpool’s season having fizzled out in recent weeks.

Rodgers will already be thinking about next season and the team have been off colour enough in recent weeks to know that even money is a poor price about the visitors at the KC Stadium.
