Sir Mark Prescott has made his customary slow start to the season sending out just three turf winners from 20 runners overall. Now is the time when things start picking up for the stable and his handicap runners invariably improve when stepped up in trip.

He runs NIGHT GENERATION here and the three-year-old looks the least exposed runner in the field after just four starts. He’s handicapped on his three juvenile runs all over inadequate trips, and I’ll be amazed of he can’t win a race off his current low mark of 54. He was beaten (5th of 12) off 1lb higher on his reappearance, admittedly, but even Lingfield’s ten furlongs would have been too sharp for him and today’s extra two furlongs and stiffer track should show him in a much better light. His trainer is 3-10 (30%) with his runners here in the last five seasons.

Old Fashion nearly took advantage of his slipping mark when second at Thirsk last time and he is feared most.
