Michael Appleton and Neal Ardley will consider the first eleven games of the season as a job well done for their promoted sides, with Oxford and AFC Wimbledon doing more than enough to keep their heads above water.

The U’s sit tenth in the table and can realistically expect to challenge for a play-off spot this season, with an unbeaten record at the Kassam Stadium helping them earn eleven points while they have also picked up an additional four on the road.

Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon are two points worse off although they are more than holding their own in this division and can’t be written off for this match considering they have only experienced defeat once on the road.

Many expected the London side to struggle this term after coming up through the play-offs in unlikely fashion, although they have recently enjoyed a five-match unbeaten run and beat Gillingham 2-0 last weekend.

Lyle Taylor has been among the goals in recent games, finding the net in three of the last four encounters, while Oxford might have won at Bolton in their previous away game although that followed three games without a victory.
