Chelsea will secure the Premier League title by beating Crystal Palace on Sunday, although it might not pay to lump on the Blues at prohibitive odds.

Jose Mourinho’s side know that victory will give them an unassailable advantage over their rivals, although Crystal Palace arrive at Stamford Bridge with a very impressive record on the road.

Alan Pardew’s side have been highly effective away from home in the past few months. Since triumphing at Dover in the FA Cup, they have won six of their past seven away matches and the Eagles will be looking to put on a show of their own in the London derby.

Consecutive home defeats against Hull and West Brom have abruptly ended a four-match winning run, with Yannick Bolasie now a marked man (literally) after his hat-trick at the Stadium of Light, although perhaps Palace’s style of play is better suited to away from home.

You can’t deny Chelsea are the best team in the land, with Jose Mourinho getting the best from his players and the absence of Diego Costa for parts of the season haven’t affected results all too much.

This ultra-consistent side are hard to oppose although perhaps they might take their foot off the gas in this match and simply look to get the three points, which often leads to a stilted performance.

The past three matches at the Bridge have seen Chelsea draw with Southampton before slender wins over Manchester United and Stoke City, with this game set to go a similar way.

That’s unless Palace lie down in this match although it’s doubtful that Pardew will allow that to happen as he looks to restore his team into the top half of the Premier League table before the end of the campaign.
