Chelsea head to the French capital this week without their preferred centre-half pairing of John Terry and Kurt Zouma, with Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic set to deputise against the runaway Ligue 1 leaders.

The Blues enjoyed a 5-1 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday although this match is a different kettle of fish, with Paris Saint-Germain one of the fiercest attacking teams in Europe.

PSG are a backable price to win this Champions League first leg clash, with the team having lost just one match all season and that was a 1-0 reverse at Real Madrid during the group stage of the competition.

Domestically, they have been practically flawless and Saturday’s goalless draw against Lille saw Dider Deschamps field a weakened team ahead of this massive clash against the champions of England.

Guus Hiddink is savvy when it comes to this competition and will have a game plan aimed at nullifying the opposition and trying to secure at least one away goal before the return leg.

Eden Hazard is starting to show signs of the player that took England by storm last season, with Diego Costa a menace for any defender, while Pedro and Willian are also capable of causing problems.

Even so, it’s tough to see Chelsea living with a PSG side who average three goals per match at the Parc des Princes, with Angel Di Maria enjoying a fantastic season in France and there’s the obvious threat of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who will be glad not to face Terry on Tuesday night.
