Liverpool are 2/5 to qualify for the Champions League last eight stage at the expense of Porto, although don’t be massively surprised if the Reds bow out.

Perhaps this two-legged tie will be more evenly-matched than the odds suggest, with the Portuguese side in excellent form this season and they’ve only lost twice since the campaign began.

OK so the Portuguese Liga is a modest European league compared to larger counterparts, although it should be noted that Sergio Conceicao’s side recovered well from losing their opening Champions League game against Besiktas to finish second in the group.

Moussa Marega and Vincent Aboubakar are dangerous front men for Porto, with the team boasting stats of 10-1-0 in front of their own supporters and they will be confident of serving it up to Liverpool.

The visitors warmed up for this match with a 2-0 victory at Southampton, although they played well in fits and starts and perhaps are too short to win a game that they don’t need victory.

One can’t help but feel that Liverpool are vulnerable when attacked with pace, with Emre Can and Gini Wijnaldum potentially getting caught flat-footed and the Reds do look to get Mohamed Salah on the ball at every opportunity.

Options are limited and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is clearly no Philippe Coutinho, with Jurgen Klopp perhaps a little deluded as to how good his team really is.

It’s possible that Liverpool will counter-attack to devastating effect and they did race into a 3-0 lead at Sevilla although they also struggled to cope with an onslaught which saw the game end 3-3.

Porto look a massive price considering they are the home team and you can also back them with confidence on the Asian Handicap.
