We’re looking forward to Monday night’s FA Cup clash where League One Shrewsbury will hope to overturn a Manchester United side who are not having a good season.

The Red Devils were in Denmark on Thursday night playing in the Europa League and have a recent track record of struggling against lower-league opposition, with Cambridge United holding them last season.

MK Dons also spanked United in the Capital One Cup last term and Van Gaal’s team only just scraped past Sheffield United earlier in the FA Cup.

While the Red Devils won 3-1 at Derby in the last round, the Rams basically allowed United to play their football for large parts of the game and Shrewsbury will be wanting to get in the opposition’s faces from the word go.

The New Meadow is a small compact ground and Shrewsbury have players capable of causing problems to top flight opposition, with the Shropshire side coming into this game off the back of a 3-2 win at Blackpool.

It was three quickfire goals in that game and Andy Mangan’s return from Tranmere has seen the scouser score four times and add some much-needed firepower to the ranks.

United are hit and miss as they demonstrated when losing at Sunderland and the visitors will be happy to get the job done here, with Shrewsbury a big price on the handicap.
