Before looking at the odds for this Premier League encounter, we thought about how we would price this game up. Perhaps something like 6/4 Tottenham, 12/5 the draw and 6/4 Manchester City.

Therefore, we were surprised to find that the visitors are favourites to win this game at around the even money mark. This is a City team who have failed to win more than 50% of their matches on the road.

It’s also a City team who have gone off the boil in the past few weeks, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side having failed to win any of their last five games on the road and there is no reason why this might change at White Hart Lane.

Yaya Toure is a big injury blow and Vincent Kompany is missing in defence which prompts one to imagine that Harry Kane could enjoy himself against a City rearguard of Demichelis and Mangala.

Spurs have won nine times at the Lane this term and only sit nine points behind their opponents in the table, coming into the match off the back of a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s which saw the visitors twice come from behind.

It appears that there could be a change of manager at the Etihad this summer, with Pellegrini facing the exit door after a trophy-less season and a meek defence of their title landed last season in dramatic fashion.

Sergio Aguero has scored his usual bundle of goals, although City’s lack of form was illustrated last weekend when Aston Villa nearly landed an unlikely point and it would have been a deserved one for Tim Sherwood’s team.

There is little pressure on Tottenham for this game, with Christian Eriksen expected to maraud behind the dangerous Kane and we think Tottenham are badly over-priced for a match which should be a lot closer than the odds suggest.
