Southampton have spent the whole season in the upper echelons of the Premier League table, although it appears that the campaign is now catching up with Ronald Koeman’s team.

The Saints have won just four of their past fifteen matches in all competitions, with that early season momentum having fallen by the wayside and the defence unable to keep the same ratio of clean sheets.

There’s been no victory in the past four matches for the team from the south coast, with Koeman hoping for home comforts in Southampton’s final match at St Mary’s, although last weekend’s game at Leicester was over inside twenty minutes as the Foxes scored twice.

We simply can’t have the Saints at odds-on for this game, with Aston Villa virtually safe from the drop after scrapping for the whole campaign against the prospect of finishing in the bottom three.

Tim Sherwood’s side have won seven of their past eleven matches and are still full of motivation considering that there’s the small matter of an FA Cup final on the horizon. The manager will not look too happy if any of the players start slacking off for Wembley.

The bottom line is that Villa have won four of their last five, with the only defeat being a 3-2 reverse at Manchester City which saw the home side score at the death to deny their opponents a point.

Christian Benteke has proven once again that he’s a class act with the right level of service and Jack Grealish has announced himself in the Premier League, with the young midfielder potentially able to help his team to the points here.

However, Southampton haven’t lost too many at home this term so we’ll take the visitors on the handicap market instead.
