Alan Pardew was complimentary about Norwich City following his team’s 3-1 win at Carrow Road, claiming that the Canaries had bossed the opening exchanges and deserved to be a goal ahead.

In addition, Alex Neil’s team were unfortunate not to draw level at 2-2 when Cameron Jerome’s effort on goal was harshly judged to have involved a high boot as Norwich were in the ascendancy.

Neil lamented the concession of some soft goals in their Premier League opener, although they were nothing compared to the way Sunderland shipped four times at the King Power Stadium that day.

Dick Advocaat returned to the Stadium of Light to popular acclaim although it was cartoon defending against a Foxes side hungry for goals and the Dutchman might need more than a week to address these problems.

Norwich can’t be backed with a huge degree of confidence to win the game, although they are more than capable of holding their own against opponents who are without Adam Johnson after the winger was ruled out for four weeks.

Jerome might get the nod over Lewis Grabban for this match, while Nathan Redmond is also likely to return to the starting XI and the Canaries under Neil have a fantastic winning record even if all those victories were in the Championship.

We’re happy to go with Norwich on the handicap market and expect to see the Canaries get off the mark with at least a point and maybe all three against a Sunderland side who look to have deep-lying problems in defence.
