Swansea are arguably the best team in the Premier League based on league position set against expectation at the beginning of the season.

The Welsh side are ensconced in eighth place and just two points behind Tottenham despite having a much smaller transfer and wage budget, along with the fact that Wilfried Bony headed to Manchester City in January to warm the bench every week.

Garry Monk’s latest act of managerial wizardry was a victory at the Emirates on Monday which means that the Swans have enjoyed a double over Manchester United and Arsenal this season. Now they have Manchester City in their sights.

City come into this game off the back of a 6-0 win against QPR although that scoreline was in no way a surprise as Rangers gave a final exhibition of hapless defending before they are removed from the Premier League once again.

Sure enough, Sergio Aguero is a deadly marksman and David Silva will control any game given time on the ball, although City’s recent away form isn’t that impressive and a trip to the Liberty Stadium is always tough, especially as Swansea might employ a similar game plan to that of the Emirates where they suffocated Arsenal and took the chance that came their way.

This Swansea team can also play a bit when given the opportunity, especially if Gylfi Sigurdsson can get on the ball, while Bafetimbi Gomis is a man mountain in attack and starting to grow in confidence after spending the opening part of his Swans career playing understudy to Bony.
