Betting Tip: Sunderland +2.00 @ 4/5 with ladbrokes

Sam Allardyce has a strong track record when it comes to keeping teams in the Premier League and Sunderland enjoyed a much-needed shot in the arm on Wednesday night when winning 4-2 at the Liberty Stadium.

It means that Swansea have been dragged into trouble and the Black Cats will arrive at White Hart Lane with their tails up and little to lose against a Tottenham side who haven’t exactly turned White Hart Lane into a fortress.

Spurs have won just five of eleven home matches this season, scoring a modest eighteen goals in the process and they drew a blank on Wednesday night as Leicester came away with a 1-0 win.

The pressure will be on Pochettino’s men for this clash, with Tottenham woefully short in the match betting and there could be some value in taking them on.

While this is a young dynamic team, it is far from the finished article and Sunderland will fancy their chances of getting out of trouble after recent wins against Villa and Swansea.

Sunderland have lost eight of their eleven matches on the road this term, although they have scored fourteen times away from home and Jermain Defoe will be relishing the prospect of lining up against his former club.

Spurs are win-less in their past three games, with a draw at Goodison Park before a failure to beat Leicester in the previous two matches.

Jeremain Lens can cause Tottenham problems and we’re happy to get with the visitors on the handicap market here.
