So far, so good for Wales as they attempt to qualify for a major tournament for the first time since 1958.

This is arguably the best Welsh team of all time, with Gareth Bale one of the best players in the world, while he is flanked by several Premier League stars such as Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen.

The squad can’t hold a candle to Belgium player-for-player although Chris Coleman’s side have a big heart as they have demonstrated so far when it comes to qualifying for Euro 2016.

Five games played, three games won and two drawn including a goalless one in Belgium a few months ago which saw Wales defend manfully. Indeed, they have only conceded twice in their five games to date.

Belgium recently jumped to number two in the FIFA world rankings, with Marc Wilmots’ team enjoying a 4-3 friendly win in France on Sunday which included two goals from Marouane Fellaini.

Fellaini played a key role for Manchester United last season and Wilmots is likely to pitch him into battle on Friday night, with Coleman acknowledging that this is a quality Red Devils side who come to Cardiff.

“Belgium are probably the most expensive international squad in the world,” Coleman said.

“They’ve got 11 top-class players and you look at the bench and it’s the same level.

“They’ve got top quality everywhere and I can see why they’ve organised a friendly.

“That’s their path and that’s what they want to do. What’s good for one [team] is not necessarily good for another.”

However, Vincent Kompany is suspended for the match in Cardiff and Belgium’s previous away results in qualifying have been a 1-0 victory in Israel and a 1-1 draw in Bosnia.

They demonstrated at the World Cup that they are not quite on the same level as the really top teams and we’re happy to side with Wales on the handicap market.
