The 1m2f handicap for three-year-olds is packed with potential improvers and they include Charlie Fellowes’ BUCKLAND BOY, who is making his handicap debut off a mark of 67. That could prove to be lenient as while the closest he’s finished in three starts is fifth that came in a field of 16 over this track and trip, when giving the distinct impression that he would improve when sent down the handicap route.

Out of sprinter Bated Breath, he clearly gets his stamina from his dam, who is a daughter of Derby winner High Chaparral, and a half-sister to a 1m2f Listed winner. This is likely to be his best trip then and I’d expect his in-form trainer to have him to ready to exploit his good mark following a 61-day break, choosing this race from four entries this week.
