Wolverhampton Wanderers were expected to mount a promotion challenge in the Championship this term, although Kenny Jackett’s team sit fourteenth and face a massive challenge if they are to get near the top six.

The top five in the league look set to be a permanent fixture for the rest of the season, with Cardiff currently keeping sixth place warm although Wolves have really got to start sorting out their home form to stand any chance.

Wanderers have managed just two wins from their nine home games, with just nine goals score in front of their own supporters and Benik Afobe is not scoring as many goals as was expected of him.

The striker was actually left on the bench at Rotherham last weekend as Wolves landed a 2-1 win against the Millers, with Nottingham Forest the visitors to Molineux on Friday night.

0-0 draws against Burnley and MK Dons has at least seen the defence improve, although the Tricky Trees come into this match with three wins from their last four games.

Granted, all the victories came at the City Ground and Dougie Freedman’s side have lost their last four games on the road, although the manner of their victories against Reading and Fulham were impressive.

Six goals were scored in those games combined and Nelson Oliveira is starting to shine in a red shirt, with that derby goal potentially being the uplift that he needed this season.

We’re happy to go with the visitors on the handicap market considering they should be a match for Wanderers, with Matt Mills a danger from set pieces and also a handy defender at this level.
