It’s FA Cup third round weekend and there will be some inevitable shocks, with the BT Sport cameras at Adams Park on Saturday lunchtime.

At the start of the season, it would have been unthinkable to see Aston Villa at 11/10 to claim victory against a League Two team, although Sky Bet are prepared to chalk up those odds about a Villans team who are suffering badly this season.

There seems little hope that Remi Garde’s team are going to escape the drop this term after Saturday’s 3-1 reverse at the Stadium of Light, while the players might not be up for the fight when they tackle a Wycombe side who are fairly handy.

Wanderers have won four of their past six matches, with Gareth Ainsworth nearly steering the Chairboys into League One through the play-offs last term and they sit sixth in the table this time around.

Wycombe won away to Millwall in the last round of the competition and will be well aware that Villa are struggling badly in the top flight this season. Indeed, there could be just a division separating the teams next term, with the Midlands side effectively a Championship side in the making.

Therefore, it almost looks too obvious that we’ll see a cup shock although the bottom line is that Villa haven’t experienced any kind of victory since beating Birmingham in the League Cup and that was a slender 1-0 win.

Previously to this, it was a 1-0 triumph at Bournemouth on the opening day of the campaign, with Garde at a loss to address a season-long slump and confidence levels will be low coming into a game where the home side will be looking to make it an uncomfortable afternoon.
