Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 12:30 Thurles - Sea Road Fill

Birdsandthebees has a big test ahead trying to cope with a 10lb rise for a narrow win, especially as the same 7lb claimer rides as last time out. Our preference is for Sea Road Fill to finally get his head in front under rules. He just didn’t quite get home the last day, so a slight drop in trip should see him to best effect here.

Tip 2 - 1:55 Newbury - Johnnywho

The top three in the betting all finished in a bunch when they met over hurdles, so we will side with Johnnywho who put in a great round of jumping last time out and is the only one of the three who has jumped a fence on the track. Jonjo O'Neill Jr was also on board that day, so he can resume his partnership with a horse who looks like he is going places as a chaser.

Tip 3 - 2:30 Newbury - Heltenham 

Galop De Chasse looks a real danger having won over course and distance last November and being part of the flying Venetia Williams yard, but we go for course specialist Heltenham here. Is a perfect three from three over course and distance and typically goes really well when fresh, so the break since April should hold no fears. Still on a lofty mark, but this track seems to get the best out of him.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch.
