Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 12:55 Ascot - Fortuna Ligna

This looks an open race with some improvers in company. Fortuna Ligna looked like she needed the run out when returning from 167 days off two weeks ago. Was in great form at the end of last season, winning from a mark of 105 and then finishing second from 109. Is 109 for this race but claimer Chad Bament takes 10 pounds off, as she drops in trip by over two furlongs. Trainer Anthony Honeyball has three winners from the last nine to post, and she should go close.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Haydock - Doyen Quest

Another big Saturday handicap, another fancied Skelton runner. Doyen Quest looked a long way ahead of his mark when winning at Cheltenham last week. He powered up the hill in his first run over three miles to win going away. His hold-up style means it could take the handicapper a while to get to grips with him, and he’ll take all the beating here off just five pounds more.

Tip 3 - 3:05 Haydock - Royal Pagaille

Track specialist Royal Pagaille might just get conditions exactly how he wants them for the Betfair Chase. A horse who can be hit and miss has form figures that read 1211 at the track that has been the venue for some of his best performances. With around six inches of rain forecast on the day of the race, the current good to soft going will be long gone, and the softer ground he needs will have arrived.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
