Back goals at the Emirates on Tuesday evening
Arsenal are seeking their third Champions League win on the bounce and Anderlecht are in their sights tonight at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners are in confident mood ahead of this clash and will be eager to top their group by the time Borussia Dortmund come to town in the final group encounter. Arsenal sit three points behind the Bundesliga team and will be seeking to avenge for their 2-0 defeat when the sides last met.
Arsene Wenger’s men have performed well since that opening day defeat, thrashing Galatasaray 4-1 before clawing their way back from 1-0 down to beat tonight’s opponents Anderlecht 2-1 at the Westfalenstadion. We are backing the North London side to clinch another valuable win this evening at 4/11 with Paddy Power.
Anderlecht have started their domestic season in excellent form and sit atop the Belgian league, however they have struggled in European competition, managing a solitary point in the Champions League courtesy of their draw against Galatasaray in Istanbul.
With just 14 domestic matches played, they have accrued some 27 points and players such as defender Olivier Deschaucht and midfielder Simon Defour will be eager to display their talents at the Emirates, an away win up for grabs at 19/2 with Boylesports.
Anderlecht put up a decent fight against a superior Arsenal squad in the reverse fixture, however they suffered a 3-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund in the previous match and we feel that a similar scoreline is possible tonight.
Arsenal were in excellent form in their last European outing, their 4-1 victory a fair reflection on the dominance of the Gunners in that match and following their 3-0 win against Burnley last weekend, we certainly fancy Arsenal to be banging in a few goals tonight which is why we’re happy to back them at 11/5 to triumph in this match with a two goal handicap.
Danny Welbeck was the hero in that 4-1 win against Galatasaray and despite struggling for Premier League goals, he will be looking to add to his goal-tally in the Champions League, Ladbrokes offering 4/1 for the England forward to break the deadlock at the Emirates.
Our betting tips
