Arsenal v Stoke City betting tips – Hosts will come out with guns blazing

The Gunners will get their revenge against Stoke City on Sunday

Stoke City were the victors in the last meeting between these sides last month, however the Gunners will have revenge on their minds when they face the Potters at the Emirates on Sunday.

Stoke City had a tough set of matches in December but emerged with flying colours, the highlight perhaps being the 3-2 victory against Arsenal at the Britannia. Indeed, the scoreline hides the dominance of the home side in the first half when they soared to a 3-0 lead at half-time before Arsenal stormed back with two second half goals.

Since that match, Stoke City have suffered just one defeat, Chelsea spoiling their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win at the Britannia last month and the Potters were successful in holding a resurgent Manchester United side to a 1-1 draw on New Year’s Day. They come into this match on the back of a FA Cup victory against Wrexham and will be in confident mood in this Super Sunday clash.

Nevertheless, things will be very different to the reverse fixture at the Britannia last month. The Gunners are in fine form at home this season and apart from that defeat in the Potteries, they have suffered just one defeat since mid-November and will prove a huge obstacle for Stoke to overcome this weekend.

The only side to have clinched the points at the Emirates as yet this season have been Manchester United and we don’t anticipate this situation changing at all on Sunday. Following that defeat, the Gunners have won their last five home matches and they should avenge their defeat to Stoke this time around.

Both sides are nevertheless banging in the goals this season and we fully expect this to prove to be the case this weekend. As such, we’ll be backing the Gunners to win with both sides getting their names onto the scoresheet.
