Bradford City v Millwall betting tips – Bantams will face Chelsea in next round

A hard fought match in prospect tonight at Valley Parade

bradford

A prize of a visit to Stamford Bridge will be a huge incentive for both sides ahead of this clash, however we feel that the hosts will be the ones cheering at the final whistle.

Bradford City forced Championship side Millwall to settle for a draw in the original tie of this fixture and having knocked out non-league sides Dartford and Halifax in previous rounds they will be confident that they can dispose of the Lions at the second time of asking.

The New Den can be an intimidating place at the best of times, however the Bantams displayed the form which has seen them soar to fifth place in the League One table. Their ten match unbeaten run was ended thanks to a last gasp winner from Rochdale at the weekend, however we expect them to bounce back from that disappointment with a morale-boosting win tonight.

Millwall started this season in optimistic mood, however manager Ian Holloway has been unable to get the best out of his side and they sit in the relegation zone. With this in mind, Holloway may be treating this competition as a minor inconvenience. Nevertheless, a visit to Stamford Bridge would possibly galvanise his side and he will be eager for a victory tonight, such a result up for grabs at 23/10 with BetVictor.

The Bradford faithful would relish a trip to Chelsea and we firmly believe that the Yorkshire side can achieve this tonight. Phil Parkinson will be in no doubt as to the tough task that awaits his side, however he will almost certainly adopt a direct style of play. Bradford are a strong side and the home crowd will be a huge factor in this match. The Millwall rearguard will have plenty to occupy them, Jon Stead the key danger to the visitors.

Stead has been in top form at the Bantams, scoring two goals in this competition so far. The ex Sunderland player managed to get his name onto the scoresheet against Rochdale at the weekend and we fancy him to continue hitting the back of the net tonight at odds of 21/10 with Coral.

Millwall are a division above Bradford, however on current form the reverse could easily be true next season. As such we’ll be firmly backing a Bradford win tonight.
