Brentford v Middlesbrough betting tips – Bees will lack sting against a resurgent Boro

Middlesbrough will continue their impressive form at Griffin Park

Middlesbrough look set to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to eight matches when they make the journey down to west London on Saturday afternoon.

A 2-0 win away to Manchester City in the FA Cup last weekend was one of the shocks of the fourth round, overshadowed perhaps by events at Stamford Bridge the same afternoon. As such, the visitors to Griffin Park will be in high spirits coming into this match and depending on results at Bournemouth this evening, the north-east club could go top of the table with a win in west London.

Middlesbrough have been in impressive form this season following a tremendous first half of the season. They have scored fourteen goals in their last eight Championship matches and should prove too hot for Brentford to handle on Saturday.

That’s certainly not to say that this match will be anything like a walkover for the visitors. Brentford have also had an excellent season to date and go into this match on the back of three straight wins in the Championship, the most recent being a 2-1 win at Carrow Road against a strong Norwich City side.

There is certainly a case for both sides in this match, however the visitors will certainly have the edge and they start this match as favourites at 6/4 across the market, a decent price considering their current form.

Middlesbrough’s main threat will come from Patrick Bamford, the centre-forward scoring in Boro’s last two matches, including the opening goal at the Etihad last weekend and he represents decent value at 21/10 to score at any time in this match.

The most obvious bet for us in this match remains a ‘Boro victory however. The Teessiders are red-hot at the moment and they will be looking to avoid any slip-up at Griffin Park on Saturday.
