The Champions League returns to our screens this Tuesday and Wednesday, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea representing the English challenge in the competition.

Liverpool have been out of the Champions League for several seasons although Brendan Rodgers is looking to mount a serious challenge in the competition and went as far as to rest Raheem Sterling for last Saturday’s defeat against Aston Villa.

Ludogorets are the first Group B opponents that the Reds face, with the Anfield contest likely to yield three points against the minnows.

Meanwhile, reigning champions Real Madrid face Basel as they look to make a winning start, while Arsenal face familiar foes in the form of Borussia Dortmund as the Gunners look to achieve a positive result in Germany.

Manchester City’s European assignment doesn’t get any harder when they head to Germany to face Bayern Munich, with Chelsea up against Schalke at Stamford Bridge.
