Real handed favourable European Cup draw against Borussia Dortmund and should reach last four
The draw for the Champions League quarter finals have been made, with Bayern Munich undoubtedly being handed the plum draw by being paired with Manchester United, although the Red Devils will have little to lose from having a crack at Pep Guardiola’s team.
Bayern were undoubtedly the best team in Europe last season, although odds of 9/5 about the holders seem a touch skinny about them retaining their crown, with this being a cup competition which is often decided by a moment of magic or a defensive mistake.
Real Madrid are certainly capable of the former thanks to having Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in their team, with two of the best players in the world set to give Borussia Dortmund a torrid time over two quarter final encounters and they look the value on the outright market.
BetVictor free bet offer a generous 7/2 about Real claiming victory in this competition and they cruised into the last eight after scoring nine times against Schalke, with Carlo Ancelotti steering his team to the top of La Liga table.
The indifferent form of Barcelona does not make them an attractive betting proposition and Atletico Madrid could yet knock out their Spanish rivals after the teams were drawn together, with Gerardo Martino’s team a 4/1 chance to go all the way.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are a 14/1 chance to win the Champions League after being drawn against Paris Saint-Germain and it’s hard to call which side will go through, although PSG are a 12/1 chance on the outright market and comprehensively dealt with Bayer Leverkusen in the last round.
Real Madrid are the team we are backing at odds of 7/2, with Dortmund unlikely to find the Spanish team as accomodating as last season where Robert Lewandowski scored an incredible four goals against Mourinho’s team.
