Cheltenham World Hurdle betting tips – Annie Power can rule the World

Another Rich Ricci horse can make all and get the sweets against her opponents

Annie Power can hose up at the Festival after easy wins for Vautour and Faugheen

Annie Power was a 3/1 chance to win the Ladbrokes World Hurdle before the horse was declared for this race and her price has been tumbling ever since, with bet365 free bet now among those firms offering best odds of 6/4 that the mare claims victory in Thursday’s showpiece race.

Willie Mullins clearly has his horses bang in form, with Vautour getting the party started in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle with a facile win, while Faugheen was equally impressive in the Neptune on Wednesday and it suggests that another Rich Ricci horse can make all and get the sweets against her opponents.

The ground has come fast for Annie Power which should be to her liking and the fact that she will receive a seven pound mares allowance further strengthens the argument for backing the Irish raider who comes into the race with an unbeaten record.

True enough, the mare has never travelled three miles in any race although there is surely minimal risk involved with setting the mare over this distance considering that she has adequately won over two miles and four furlongs, while the strength of opposition is questionable.

Big Buck’s has been a great champion in this race, with World Hurdles to his name and the 4/1 available with Paddy Power could be an each-way bet to nothing with the Paul Nicholls horse thought to have needed a run in the Cleeve Hurdle following a return from a long injury lay-off.

On that day, Big Buck’s finished third behind Knockara Beau and many think that the combination of injury, age and the fact that Sam Twiston-Davies is on board instead of Noel Fehily could count against this legend of the Festival.

Tony McCoy was faced with a difficult decision over whether to ride At Fishers Cross or More Of That, although he has plumped for the former, having made the wrong decision when it came to the Champion Hurdle and he will be hoping history doesn’t repeat itself in the space of a week.

His charge finished ahead of Big Buck’s last time although has been on the drift recently and is now 9/1 to win the race, while More Of That has come into 10/1 and will be ridden by Barry Geraghty.

Rule The World is an 8/1 chance while Zarkandar could feature prominently and is available at 14/1 which could be an interesting each-way selection. However, Annie Power is the one that they all have to beat!
