It's derby time on Merseyside this weekend and things will be tight at Goodison Park.
There is no doubt that Liverpool have turned their season around, however they will be expecting a tough ride at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon and things may not go entirely their way.
Results have certainly improved for Brendan Rodgers’ side and a fourth successive Premier League win looks to be on the cards this weekend. Indeed, the Reds haven’t been beaten in ninety minutes since mid-December and will be confident that they can withstand anything that their arch-rvials can throw at them.
Nevertheless, we should perhaps expect the unexpected when it comes to derby matches. The Toffees are unbeaten in their last three Premier League outings and are the most prolific scorers in the bottom half of the table, however they are in the position they are thanks to a poor defensive record.
Indeed, the Toffees have only kept two clean sheets since late November, these being against Crystal Palace and West Brom and they will struggle against a strong Liverpool strikeforce.
Nevertheless, Everton possess Romelu Lukaku, the striker scoring ten goals this season so far, including the winning goal after just two minutes of play at Selhurst Park last weekend. As such, we fancy the Belgian to score at some point of the match at odds of 12/5 with BetVictor.
That’s not to say that we’re expecting a home win. Liverpool will certainly have the edge in this derby match and will be eager to extend their Premier League unbeaten run to eight.
