Leicester City v Sunderland betting tips – Foxes set to stop the rot

Can Leicester stop the rot this weekend?

leicester 2

Leicester are in the midst of a dreadful run of form and will be desperate to turn things around when Sunderland come to town on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester City started their first season back in the Premier League in style as they beat Manchester United and forced Everton and Arsenal to settle for draws. Things have turned sour since then and the side have been on a downward spiral since those early days of the campaign.

A six-match winless streak followed the shock win over Man United and Nigel Pearson’s side have lost the last four matches in the top flight. Can they stop the rot and halt the slide inexorably down the table?

The visit of Sunderland this weekend gives the Foxes a decent chance of turning things around and the hosts are up for grabs at 23/20 with Betfred to clinch the points on Saturday afternoon. BetVictor have 29/10 available for an away win for the Black cats and 12/5 for a draw, however we’re backing the home side to return to winning ways on Saturday so we recommend backing the home team to seal the points which will help them climb out of the relegation zone.

The principal reason for the slump in leicester’s fortunes is simply lack of goals. Following their five goals against man United, the Foxes have managed to find the back of the net in just one out of six games, failing to score at all in the last 410 minutes of play.

With the visiting team only managing two clean sheets all season and conceding seventeen goals in that time, this match is the perfect chance for Leicester to get back on the goal trail. The Sunderland defence is there to be breached and the hosts can easily do that this weekend.

Should you be seeking a Leicester goalscorer, look no further than Leonardo Ulloa, the Argentinian scoring five times in as many games earlier in the season. Nevertheless, his goals have dried up since then and he will be desperate to return to his scoring ways on Saturday, Bwin offering 2/1 for him to score anytime and SkyBet offering 5/1 that he breaks the deadlock.

The best bet for us however is a simple Leicester win. Sunderland have an extremely shaky defence and the Foxes are desperate for goals. Should the home side score early on, this could provide them with the confidence needed to turn things around.
