Liverpool v Bolton betting tips – Reds will maintain their unbeaten January run

Liverpool will remain in two domestic cup competitions this weekend

Brendan Rodgers steered his side to a creditable 1-1 draw with league leaders Chelsea in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final last weekend. They can go one better on Saturday when they host an improving Bolton Wanderers side in the FA Cup.

Liverpool go into the second half of the season in much better fashion that when they started their campaign. They have been unbeaten as yet since the new year and can continue this impressive run with an FA Cup fourth round win against Championship side Bolton Wanderers at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

A place in the last sixteen of the competition awaits the winner of a clash which sees Emile Heskey return from his foreign travels.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have a finely poised League Cup semi-final looming and this may play a part in influencing team selection ahead of this game. Rodgers will likely rest Steven Gerrard for the Capital One Cup second leg and with Kolo Toure on international call-up and Daniel Sturridge still far from full fitness, Mario Balotelli will likely get onto the pitch and maybe even contribute to a goal or two.

Bolton will be no pushovers however with Neil Lennon steering them steadily up the Championship table following a dreadful start to the season. Emile Heskey has been joined by Eidur Gudjohnsen and together the pair will certainly pose the home defence a few problems.

Indeed, Bolton will have nothing to lose and we can expect a spirited attack from the visitors. Liverpool will be attaching the upcoming League Cup semi-final more importance and as such may be there for the taking. Saying that, the Reds will ultimately prove too strong for the Wanderers and a narrow home win looks the most likely outcome on Saturday.

We’ll be playing it relatively safe and going for a Liverpool win by a one goal margin.
