Liverpool v Stoke City betting tips – Reds will continue winless streak

A Reds win is desperately needed. Will it come on Saturday afternoon?

Liverpool are going nowhere fast at the moment and manager Brendan Rodgers is a man under severe pressure as he attempts to turn around his side's fortunes.

They need to win this, nothing less than three points will do. Fail in this task and Brendan Rodgers will have question marks hanging over his head. Can there really be a doubt over the future of a manager who came so close to handing Liverpool fans their first ever Premier League title? Well yes there can and following the midweek draw against Ludogorets in the Champions league, the Reds have now gone some eight games with just one win to show for their efforts, not a great statistic.

A recovery at Anfield on Saturday is a must. Liverpool sit in the bottom half of the table some five points adrift of a Champions League position so things must be turned around, and quickly. They start this match as firm favourites at 8/11 with Betfred, however we just can’t get excited about the Reds’ performances lately and we’ll be sidestepping that price and looking for something slightly more tempting.

Beyond the match betting market there are some viable options, not least Both Teams To Score at 20/23 with Boylesports. Liverpool have managed a mere one clean sheet in sixteen games, this being a dire goalless draw against Hull City. The Potters will be confident that they can breach a relatively weak Liverpool rearguard. Likewise the home side should get themselves onto the scoresheet at Anfield, Rickie Lambert hopeful that he can find the back of the net now that he appears to have got off the mark with an early goal against Crystal Palace. He followed up this strike with a goal in the midweek Champions League match against Ludogorets and looks good to open the scoring at 9/2 across the market.

We’re going to keep things simple for this match however and back a draw at 3/1 with Bet365. Neither side are exactly setting the Premier League alight at present and we can’t see either side dominating this match. Lambert should find himself on the scoresheet and is also worth a punt on the First Goalscorer betting market.
