The Tigers opened their season with a win against QPR, however they have recorded just three more in the Premier League since then, a statistic which won't be changing when they visit the Etihad on Saturday.
Hull City are already looking doomed and judging by their recent results they have already accepted that their stay in the Premier League may be over.
The Tigers started the year with a 2-0 win against Everton, an impressive result perhaps but one which was followed by four successive defeats during which they conceded nine goals and scored none.
This doesn’t exactly bode well for a visit to the home of reigning champions Manchester City. The hosts have won just one Premier League match since New Year’s day and will be desperate to keep their title hopes alive by closing the gap on leaders Chelsea.
With Mourinho’s side travelling to low-scoring Villa on Saturday and looking set to clinch an easy three points, any slip up by City could leave them with a huge mountain to climb in order to successfully defend their Premier League crown.
We’re not anticipating any upsets here however. Hull City are pretty toothless and have only managed to find the back of the net six times in their last eleven outings. They will be up against a City side who will be extremely eager to return to winning ways following a four-match winless run in all competitions.
As such, we’ll be backing Hull’s score-less run to extend to four matches with a clean-sheet for Manchester City. Indeed, it could well be a case of damage limitation for the visitors and a high-scoring one-sided match looks very much in prospect.
