Next Fulham FC manager – Gianfranco Zola 5/2 to replace Magath

Zola has been well backed in the past few days

Will Zola get the nod at Craven Cottage?

Zola and Kit Symons set to battle it out to become the next manager of Fulham

Having taken charge of West Ham and Watford, perhaps the Fulham board will turn to Gianfranco Zola when it comes to the vacant manager’s position at Craven Cottage.

Zola has been well backed in the past few days, with the Cottagers still without a permanent manager after parting company with Felix Magath recently.

The Italian is a 5/2 chance with BetVictor and perhaps he will be drafted in to resurrect the fortunes of a club who had three different managers in the Premier League last term before being relegated.

However, Kit Symons has staked a real claim to be given the nod on a permanent basis, with the caretaker boss doing his utmost to improve performances and results since Magath left.

Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough ended a three match winning run which included a 4-0 demolition of Bolton, with Symons clearly keen to take the reigns in the long-term.

BetVictor go 13/8 about Symons becoming the next Fulham manager although Sky Bet have 8/13 about the Welshman and perhaps their traders know something which means they are keeping him onside!

Chris Coleman is one former Fulham boss backing Symons, with the Wales manager believing that results can improve massively under him.

“If he does get it he won’t be able to do both,” Coleman said, with Symons currently assistant manager with the Welsh team.

“If he gets it I’ll be delighted for Kit but I certainly don’t want to lose him.

“I think he really wants the job and I’d like to see him get the chance,” Coleman added.

“I think he would be good for Fulham. I think it’s what Fulham needs, someone like Kit who absolutely loves the club at heart.”

Chris Hughton is a 10/1 chance, with Neil Lennon available at 14/1 although the latter doesn’t seem too keen to return to management after stepping down at Celtic.
