Michael van Gerwen set to beat Gary Anderson in Liverpool as the Premier League heads north again
ACCA TIP: Back Taylor, Lewis and Van Gerwen at 4/1 with Boylesports
We’ve had two amazing nights of Premier League Darts already, with five players having averaged over 100 for their arrers in Leeds and Bournemouth.
The circus now rolls into Liverpool, with Stephen Bunting hoping that the passionate crowd at the Echo Arena cheers him to victory although Phil Taylor is about as tough an opponent as it gets.
James Wade v Dave Chisnall
So far so good for Chizzy after victories against Peter Wright and Raymond van Barneveld, although the latter missed a glut of chances to record victory in Bournemouth. The Machine is likely to be less forgiving and Wade’s 7-2 win over Kim Huybrechts last week shows he’s a man in form.
CORRECT SCORE: Wade 7 Chisnall 5
Peter Wright v Raymond van Barneveld
Wright has had a couple of early tonkings to leave him in trouble, although the Scot did average over 100 in Bournemouth when catching Gary Anderson in red-hot form. Barney has also suffered two defeats and we can’t rely on the Dutchman considering he has a 20% checkout ratio at the moment.
CORRECT SCORE: Wright 7 Van Barneveld 5
Phil Taylor v Stephen Bunting
Taylor produced an average of 108 when thrashing Adrian Lewis last week to once again show that writing off The Power is a fruitless exercise. He faces home favourite Bunting on Thursday and the Premier League newcomer played very well last week despite losing 7-3 to the in-form Mighty Mike.
CORRECT SCORE: Taylor 7 Bunting 5
Michael van Gerwen v Gary Anderson
Stupendous darts from this pair who played the German Open Final at the weekend, although MVG landed victory and the Dutchman is in the form of his life. He has blown Huybrechts and Bunting away so far and even a resurgent Gary Anderson might struggle to live with his explosive darts.
CORRECT SCORE: Van Gerwen 7 Anderson 5
Adrian Lewis v Kim Huybrechts
The Jekyll and Hyde nature of Adrian Lewis has already been demonstrated although we might expect Jackpot to be too canny against his Belgian opponent on Thursday. Huybrechts was second-rate against James Wade in Bournemouth and his head might already be starting to drop.
CORRECT SCORE: Lewis 7 Huybrechts 4
