Daniel Sturridge is the main striker for Liverpool and should score a lot of goals next season
Sergio Aguero and Robin van Persie head the top scorer market ahead of the 2014/15 Premier League season, although both players are injury-prone and can’t be trusted at odds of 5/1.
A fully-fit Aguero would clearly yield a lot of goals for Manchester City although the Argentine spent a good deal of time on the sidelines last term and also sustained an injury during the 2014 World Cup which limited his impact.
Meanwhile, RVP is a class act who could be rejuvenated for Manchester United now that Louis van Gaal is at the helm, although the 30-year-old may be used sparingly to ensure that he lasts the course of a complete season.
Therefore, Daniel Sturridge rates as a magnificent bet when you consider that two bookmakers are offering odds of 6/1 about the Liverpool striker topping the charts.
The 24-year-old finished second behind Luis Suarez last season and with his former team-mate having left for Barcelona, the stage is set for Sturridge to plunder goals at a fast rate of knots.
Sturridge is not a streaky player, having scored in the majority of games last season and his only real barren patch came towards the end of the season as Liverpool proceeded to throw away a winning position by losing at home to Chelsea and drawing 3-3 at Crystal Palace.
BetVictor and Boylesports both offer odds of 6/1 about Sturridge and with each-way terms that are ¼ odds for the first four places, it makes sense to go down this route and yield the dividends that are sure to come your way!
While we know that Aguero might sustain the odd injury, Edin Dzeko seems to be readily available for Manchester City and the Bosnian looks an attractive bet at 20/1 on the top scorer chart.
Alvaro Negredo looks set to miss the first few months of the season with injury and Dzeko ended last year’s campaign with a glut of goals which suggests that the 20/1 with Paddy Power could rate as a really attractive bet.
After all, if City manage to score anything like the 102 goals they managed in the top flight last term, then Dzeko simply needs to get 20% of them to feature near the top of the scoring charts.
Olivier Giroud is the other player who could score for fun at a meaty price and 20/1 about the Frenchman looks a decent bet considering that Alexis Sanchez should provide plenty of assists from the left flank.
Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey are also highly creative in the middle of the park and Giroud should build on the 21 goals scored for the Gunners last term.
