Things look set to go from bad to worse tonight for bottom-of-the-table Yeovil Town tonight when they make the journey to Preston's Deepdale.
Preston remain in a play-off position in League One despite failing to win any of their last three league matches, however manager Simon Grayson will be confident of a home win this evening against struggling Yeovil Town.
Deepdale has been something of a fortress for the Lilywhites this season, the home fans witnessing just two defeats at home across all competitions so far this term and we’ll be backing the hosts to clinch maximum points against a Yeovil side who look set to suffer a second successive relegation down to League Two should results fail to improve.
The North-west club come into this match on the back of some less than impressive performances including a 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United and a 2-0 home reversal to Walsall in the League trophy earlier in the month, however they should have little difficulty getting past a Yeovil defence which is second worst in the division.
In the absence of injured Joe Garner, Paul Gallagher will pose most problems for the visitors tonight, the forward scoring from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw against Leyton Orient at the weekend and contributing to the opening goal of that game. We’ll be backing North End’s second highest scorer this season to add to his tally of seven goals with another at Deepdale.
The Glovers are some three points adrift of safety and manager Gary Johnson will be desperate to stop the rot and secure a second successive win following a 1-0 victory against Bradford City last weekend. Nevertheless, they will be up against a Preston side which has conceded fewest goals in the division with the exception of MK Dons and Bristol City and with Yeovil scoring fewer than anyone else in League One, we’ll be backing a PNE win-to-nil tonight.
