Swansea v Chelsea betting tips – Blues will dominate at the Liberty

Blues will exploit a depleted Swansea side

Wilfried Bony has now left the Liberty, a rather bad time perhaps with Chelsea lurking around the corner.

Swansea will have to come to terms with life after Bony very quickly, league leaders Chelsea next up at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Their star striker left in a much publicised £28million move to Manchester City early this week and the Swans forward line will have a gaping hole as a result.

Swans manager Garry Monk may well be worried ahead of this clash and he will be extremely lucky if his side manage to snatch anything at all from this encounter, especially since the Swans are without a single win in their last three top-flight matches.

Chelsea will be desperate for a win which could send them five points clear of second placed Manchester City. The reigning champions have been in excellent form of late and have clawed their way back into title contention once again with the leaders failing to clinch full points in three of the last seven outings.

Mourinho’s new year started with a 5-3 drubbing by north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, however they responded with a 3-0 win over Championship side Watford in the FA Cup and a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United last weekend. It should be more of the same on Saturday when they make the journey to south Wales and as such they start this game as firm odds-on favourites at 4/7 with Betfred.

Any slip-ups by Chelsea could see Manchester City catch or even overtake them and Mourinho will be taking no chances whatsoever. Diego Costa will certainly be in the starting line-up and Cesc Fabregas could be pushed into a more advanced role.

The Blues are unbeaten in all but two of their Premier League matches to date and we can’t see another defeat for the side this weekend. Swansea will be toothless in attack in the absence of their star striker and with Chelsea boasting the fewest goals conceded in the top flight this season, a Chelsea win-to-nil look value at odds of 6/4 with Sky Bet.

Diego Costa will be the one to watch at the Liberty and with 15 goals already under his belt, he is a decent bet at 11/10 with BetVictor to hit the back of the Swansea net during this encounter.
