West Brom v Hull City betting tips – Pulis can lift his new charges up the table

Pulis will have a dream start at the Hawthorns

Tony Pulis is the man charged with leading the baggies to safety in the quest for Premier League survival and he can start with a home win against struggling Hull City on Saturday afternoon.

Pulis boasts an incredible managerial record in that he has never seen one of his sides relegated and the Baggies should take some comfort from this achievement. He steered Crystal Palace to safety last season and he will have what looks to be a relatively easy task ahead of him when Hull City come to the Midlands this weekend.

West Brom have managed a solitary point from their last four Premier League outings with just one win from their last ten, therefore an improvement is certainly needed should they wish to climb away from the relegation zone. The home side start this match as slight favourites at 21/20 across the outright winner market, however this will be far from a stroll in the park.

Hull City are a 16/5 chance with 888sport and they are certainly a force to be reckoned with following impressive victories over Everton and Sunderland of late. Nevertheless, the visitors are hugely inconsistent and during that time they suffered defeat at the hands of relegation bound Leicester City and Burnley so we feel that the wise choice in this match would be to back a Baggies win.

Home striker Saido Berahino will be the man to watch following his four goals scored against Conference side Gateshead in the FA Cup last weekend, however the Hull rearguard will be made of much sterner stuff and will prove to be a particularly stubborn force to be reckoned with. Nevertheless we wouldn’t be surprised to see the England forward’s name on the scoresheet at the final whistle and we feel that he can be backed with relative confidence to score anytime at best odds of 6/4 with Paddy Power.

Pulis will be looking for a solid defensive display and we would expect to see the home side keep a clean sheet against a somewhat toothless Tigers side which have failed to score in all but four of their last twelve outings. A Baggies win-to-nil looks good value at 9/4 with Sky Bet, this match not exactly expected to produce much in the way of goals.
