Wayne Rooney has scored no less than twelve times for Manchester United against West Ham and he can certainly add something to what looks set to be a thrilling match in east London.
United boss Louis van Gaal will be hoping that his captain will perform to his best this weekend, especially since he has been performing somewhat below par in his last few outings.
Rooney’s passing has been below par, possibly due to his playing wider in his last two outings and an improvement will be required this weekend. Nevertheless, at least United are very much on the winning trail and whilst they are definitely not at their very best, they have suffered just one defeat in their last sixteen outings and can to add to that with victory at Upton Park in Sunday’s final Sky Sports 1 televised match.
West Ham will prove difficult opponents to break down, however their excellent first part of the season seems to be leading to a run of poor form and with just one Premier League win since before Christmas, the Red Devils will be confident of taking the full points home with them on Sunday.
Sam Allardyce has steered his side to some excellent performances and it must be said that the Hammers are performing far better than was expected pre-season. Nevertheless the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend was disappointing to say the least, although the substitutions of Jamie Collins and Andy Carroll due to injury certainly influenced events.
We’re expecting an extremely closely fought contest and Allardyce will be eager for Carroll to make a return for this fixture. Either way, the visitors will likely edge their way to their fourth away win this season.
