Cowboys vs. Giants Odds

For almost all NFL games, the home team is given 2.5 to 3 points in the spread. But like most division matchups, the home-field advantage doesn't mean much between these two teams.

And for that matter, the record doesn't mean much either as both sides have completed big upsets both at home and on the road.

Cowboys vs. Giants History

The NFC East rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants is one of the oldest in NFL history with the first meeting occurring in 1960.

Cowboys vs. Giants Memorable Games

One of the more memorable games in this rivalry occurred in 1993 during the final week of the NFL season. Both teams were competing for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and it took a warrior-like performance from running back Emmitt Smith for Dallas to get the narrow win in overtime.

Smith rushed for 168 yards and caught ten passes for 61 yards as he played through a significant shoulder injury. Dallas would get the No. 1 seed and would eventually go on to win the Super Bowl.

On a Monday Night Football game in 2003, Cowboys’ quarterback Quincy Carter led the team on a game-tying drive with just 11-seconds left in the four quarter. Kicker Billy Cundiff made a 53-yard kick to send the game to overtime as Dallas went on to win the game in extra time.

In 2007, the Dallas Cowboys were the No. 1 seed in the NFC, as they finished the season with a 13-3 record. But in the divisional round, the Cowboys were upset by the Giants, 21-17 as they went on to win the Super Bowl against the undefeated New England Patriots.

The Cowboys and Giants have played multiple play-in games in the final week of the season, but none was bigger than their 2012 matchup.

In Week 17, the Giants were able to edge out Dallas at home as they clinched the NFC East on their way to winning their second Super Bowl under head coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning.

Cowboys vs. Giants Infamous Moments

After their 2009 win in the Cowboys’ new stadium (AT&T Stadium), quarterback Eli Manning signed the wall of the visiting locker room, writing “First win in the new stadium.”

Defensive tackle Chris Canty was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2005 draft and played four seasons with the team before signing with the Giants in free agency. Canty started 45 games for the Giants, totaling 124 tackles, 21 tackles for a loss and nine sacks.
