Contest Types at FanDuel
FanDuel features various types of contests including the many you’ll find being offered at other DFS providers. Going on nearly ten years, FanDuel continues to innovate. They’ve released two types of contests, one for DFS beginners and another reserved for competition between friends. Below is a summary of each type of contest available to play at FanDuel:
- Tournaments: These contests have large numbers of players participating and features high paying guaranteed prize pools.
- Beat the Score: In these tournaments, the prize is evenly distributed amongst all the winners or, in other words, all who beat the score.
- Multipliers: These contests can double the money it took to buy-in. Depending on the type of multiplier, you could earn 2x, 10x the entry fee or even more.
- Head to Heads: In a head to head, you get to face off with another FanDuel player. Compete to see who has the better roster and the winner takes the entire prize.
- 3-100 Payers: With this type, you get to compete with a smaller number of players than you would in the tournaments. Plus, there are multiple payout structures.
- 50/50s: These contests will split the participants in half, with the players with a fantasy score in the top 50% winning the prize and the bottom half taking the loss.
- Satellites & qualifiers: Winning these tournament-style contests will earn you entry into another contest, often in a completely different sport than the original contest.
- Friends mode: With friends mode, you get to create a private league of your own where only players you know can join. This new type of contest can last a day or the entire season.
- Beginners only: FanDuel features contests that are meant for beginners only. They actually don’t even allow any experienced players to enter these contests.
Customer support can be contacted by email at [email protected] or by submitting a support ticket from the desktop site or mobile app. The desktop site also has a live chat feature that will connect you to the customer support team. Although the response time is quick, customer support is not available 24/7. Unfortunately, there is also no way to contact customer support by phone.
Depositing & Withdrawing Funds with FanDuel in the U.S.
There is a convenient set of payment and banking options available for players at FanDuel. Use your credit card, debit card or a PayPal account. FanDuel accepts account deposits from all major credit cards and debit cards. It also accepts payments made through PayPal. FanDuel will also let you make withdrawals using PayPal. Otherwise, your account withdrawals can be received by mail in the form of a check.
FanDuel recognizes the risks associated with not being able to manage the way you play. Their DFS site features a section devoted to the importance of this issue and also has a self-exclusion feature to allow players abstain from DFS play. FanDuel also provides tools, such as deposit and play limits to better manage your play as well as parental controls protecting minors from using the site.
FanDuel is still one of the leaders of DFS. This huge provider of fantasy contests has all the major US sports available (including baseball and hockey) and dozens of contests to choose from.
The DFS platform has released a couple forms of contests that you can play, including Beginners Mode and Friends Only. Two great new additions.
Although restricted from use in a number of states, it’s a great platform if you can use it. Both the site and mobile app continue to provide a stellar product to DFS fans out there.
FanDuel Sportsbook Review
The key features available within the FanDuel sportsbook include:
- Generous welcome bonus
- Cash Out available for both single and multiple bets
- Easy to use, with a modern interface
FanDuel Website Overview
FanDuel has made surprising strides over the years in terms of website aesthetics, expanding its basic but very cool scheme of blues and whites into a truly unique online experience.
It is very hard to think of another website in general that feels aesthetically like FanDuel’s, and that works very well to the site’s benefit, helping it stand out.
How does this benefit you?
One nice thing is the lack of excessive scrolling required to view the available sports along the left side of the screen. The “Sports A-Z” list is arranged neatly about the “Other Links” section which is all viewable at once.
The latter section includes a Betting Guide, Terms and Conditions, House Rules, tips for Responsible Gaming and Customer Support.
Friendly for beginners?
The site’s betting guide provides a section-by-section breakdown of how to place a wide variety of bets. This serves the sportsbook’s clientele particularly well due to the fact that many using it may not have much experience in sports betting.
The betting slip is extremely interactive and is ever-present at the far right margin of the screen. Single wagers are easily reviewable and manageable in this space and at the top bettors can view potential parlays and payouts. There are also two additional tabs leading to different sections of the slip for teaser and round robin bets.
Fanduel Betting Markets
FanDuel offers a wide variety of American team sports betting markets thanks to expertise in the daily fantasy industry. These include baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer and American football both at the professional and amateur (collegiate) level.
Additionally the sportsbook offers a host of different individual sports with more international appeal including MMA and UFC fighting, golf, tennis, and auto racing.
It also boasts an extensive world soccer market including the best of the best club leagues to international play to even some of the smallest leagues in the world.
One neat feature is the Daily Odds Boost which provides specific daily specials based on any particular sport. These are usually timely and have limits on the amount that can be wagered.
Unfortunately, like other New Jersey sportsbooks, horse racing is not available with FanDuel. Additionally, customers can’t place wagers on New Jersey based collegiate and high school sports events. That includes major programs like Rutgers Football and Seton Hall Basketball.
FanDuel Sportsbook Mobile App
As a giant in the American daily fantasy football industry, FanDuel has had plenty of time to develop a stellar mobile app. With the addition of sportsbook services, the site has had no difficulty outfitting that app with the company’s newest venture.
With a lot of options and information packed conveniently into your pocket-sized device, betting on the fly is a breeze with FanDuel’s sportsbook app.
With three main tabs representing Popular, Live and Upcoming events kept up to date around the clock, it should take bettors a matter of seconds to find the events they want and place wagers anywhere they can reach their phone.
