FanDuel Sportsbook Review Dec 2021

FanDuel Sportsbook Review

FanDuel is a strong, united brand established in the United States thanks to its Daily Fantasy Sports product. FanDuel transferred much of its focus in 2018 to sports betting after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) was unconstitutional, legalizing sports betting across the country. That allowed it to capitalize on a large existing customer base to encourage to bet at FanDuel sportsbook. FanDuel branched into offering an online racebook at the end of 2019, going live in two state initially. Online horse racing through FanDuel currently is certified in 22 states.

FanDuel is owned and operated by Flutter Entertainment, an Irish sports betting company formerly called Paddy Power Betfair, which merged its U.S. operations under the FanDuel brand to expand its U.S. sports betting business. And it has. FanDuel sportsbook quickly established itself in almost a dozen states, first among them being in sports betting hotbed New Jersey with a retail location at The Meadowlands Racetrack on the same grounds at MetLife Stadium, home to the NFL's New York Giants and Jets.

Notable Features at FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel sportsbook provides some great features beyond traditional betting that will enhance a customer's overall experience wagering with this operator, compared to the DraftKings Sportsbook . Here are some of them:

Live Betting

In line with its vast wagering options, live betting provides real-time lines on major mainstream sports such as baseball, basketball, hockey, and football but doesn't slack on live bets for virtually any sports market you're interested in. Access this feature from the "live now" tab under the "popular" section. You can scroll the entire list of live games or select a specific market.

Cash Out

The FanDuel cash out feature literally allows customers to cash out a bet before the particular game is over. The potential payout on a bet will fluctuate as the game unfolds, so customers can cash out early and lock in a profit or recoup some of the initial wager if the bet is spiraling. When you submit a bet through the FanDuel sportsbook, there will be displayed a "cash out" button on the wager ticket that also shows the amount you can cash out. Not all wagers are cash-out eligible, such as odds boost bets for example.

Odds Boost

Select the "Boosts" tab from the "popular" section in the top-left of the desktop setup or "Boosts" on the mobile app to view that day's offers. There are options across numerous sports markets and are updated on a daily basis. FanDuel offers boosted odds on player and game props, cross-sport parlays and much more. The best part of this feature is FanDuel lists the original odds next to the boosted odds, providing transparency on the value.

Same Game Parlay

Same-game parlays are available in certain markets. Customers will see a green “SGP” icon next to the game matchup that offers this. FanDuel sportsbook allows customers to build their own same-game parlay instead of choosing from pre-made same-game-parlays. With that being said, not all combinations are available to parlay from the same game. Since FanDuel marks available options with the green "SGP" icon, it takes out the guesswork.

Understanding Betting Options

Here are some of the more common and popular betting options that FanDuel offers:

  • Moneyline: A straight wager on one team or player to win a game or match.
  • Spread: A wager on one team to cover a certain number of points. For baseball, this spread is called a run line; for hockey, a puck line.
  • Totals: Betting on if the combined points will go over or under a predetermined total.
  • Props: A wager on a certain outcome within a game that isn't reliant on the final result, such as the number of strikeouts a pitcher will record or if a coin toss will be heads or tails.
  • Futures: A wager on a future event, such as which team will win the World Series well before it's being played. Futures also include individual outcomes, like who will be the NFL MVP.
  • Parlays: Combine multiple bets into a single ticket. More selections mean more profit, but all selections must win.

Minimum Bet

The minimum bet on FanDuel sportsbook is nine cents.

Maximum Bet

The maximum bet is $12,500 but can vary slightly on less traditional betting options. Customers can consult with customer support if they wish to raise their max bets on markets.

Reduced Juice

FanDuel doesn't exclusively advertise reduced juice on lines for customers with a large bankroll, but it's obvious the sportsbook offers this to everyone listing lines such as -105 instead of the standard -110 juice.
