Badder Beats Podcasts

What is Badder Beats?

The Badder Beats podcasts are as much about sports as they are about pop culture, touching even on some politics every once in a while. We’re all making this up as we go, right? They're hustling through the intersection of sports, betting, and journalism, hoping that nobody runs a light. So, let's talk about stuff.

Badder Beats is the verbal manifestation of a slew of great content available at It’s a combination of smart analysis, passionate fandom, storytelling and the desire to inform and entertain those who are already sports bettors or may be thinking about it. In truth, everyone is welcome. And this is not your ordinary sports betting podcast.

Badder Beats pledges never to wear you out with line and picks and spreads. Yes, you’re going to find that in a sports betting podcast, but Badder Beats is all about filling in the gaps with information and analysis and storytelling that helps reinforce that we’re first and foremost sports fans. Badder Beats has it all, from link_text_goes_here to NFL betting, plus NHL, NCAA football and basketball, the NBA and anything you’re likely to enjoy with sports betting.

Who presents it?

Brant James comes to Badder Beats as a veteran sports journalist who was written for USA TODAY,, and many of the fine newspapers that have since gotten a lot thinner. He’s covered motorsports and the National Hockey League as beats, been sprayed in the eyes with champagne by World Series-winning baseball players and landed on an aircraft carrier with Dale Earnhardt Jr. (On purpose!)

Ryan Butler ended up at Badder Beats via a highly nondescript career covering high school and college sports as well as politics, working for multiple publications that either no longer exist or shouldn’t have in the first place. He covers gaming law developments across the country, but prefers working on convoluted sports betting strategies that people in the industry have referred to as “frighteningly nonsensical conspiracy theories.” He has never met Dal Earnhardt Jr. (on purpose or otherwise) but has shaken Chris Christie’s hand – twice.
